A great time was had by all on the evening of the 18th June at Llanelly House - the 10th Anniversary of The Friends of Court Farm. Thank you to the wonderful harpist Nia Evans who played so beautifully as our guests arrived.
The evening did start on a serious note, the guests paying their respects to M.P. Jo Cox who was so brutally killed and our condolences go to her family
Doug Neil, vice -chair commence proceedings, welcoming our guests, made up of the Friends, those who have helped and advised us over the years and committee members, to the lovely setting of Llanelly House, the room looked superb. Martin [ AKA John Le Botler at our Open Doors events] said grace.
After dinner our Patron Nia Griffith , who spoke about the work of the friends over the past 10 years. She outlined the varied events we have both undertaken and attended – not forgetting the Queens Diamond Jubilee event in 2012. She also spoke about our work to keep The Court in the public profile and our lobbying of all Minister’s of Culture at the Welsh Government, most of whom have visited.
Pat Neil, the secretary talked about the formation of the Friends in 2006 and how Dominic called a group together to help save the precious building. She also said how sad it was that he had not lived to see the building restored. A toast was then given in his honour
Thank you to Anna and her staff at Llanelly House for providing us with a superb meal.
Thank you to Kim, Jo and Pat [the B.L.O.C.s - birthday, lunch organising committee] for organising the event - their diligence in attending to Llanelly House on a very regular basis to try all the food, especially the deserts was amazing. We applaud them.
Finally, we want to give a big thank you to Kim Conway for her support with the event and her generosity in providing all the wine in memory of our Chairman Dominic.
Thank you all for making it such a brilliant evening
