Landscape Archaeology Project Update

In the last newsletter, we told you we had applied for a Heritage Lottery Fund Grant to undertake this extremely important investigation into the archaeological history of Court and its landscape.

We had worked on this for over a year, in conjunction with Trinity St. David’s. Following discussions with the HLF, we reduced the costs and worked to increase the activities associated with the project to give more value for money. Great attention was given to ensure that we aimed to involve all interested parties; we also made sure that there were large elements of learning opportunities and skills for all ,to ensure the heritage was learned and recorded.

On this occasion, we did not meet the requirements for the Hlf. However, we are still receiving a positive response from them and the committee will meet to decide how we should take this forward with a view to resubmit in the New Year under the HLF new programmes.

We will not give up, as our knowledge of Court and its history is in need of further investigation
